How We Work
Professional Acceditation
Points West Audio Visual is a member of International Communications Industries Association (ICIA). ICIA provides Audio Visual industry members with education, training and conferences that enhance their ability to conduct business successfully and competently.
Many of our suppliers provide opportunities to educate ourselves on the products we carry, troubleshoot, and install. Our dedication to our customer’s satisfaction is our ultimate goal. Therefore, we spend many hours learning how we can provide the best product, service, design, installation and training. We are proud to now have two SMART Certified Trainers on staff to train teachers and other SMART Board users how to use their SMART boards effectively and develop lesson plans. Other certifications include:
- Chief Certified Partner Status - This certification has increased our knowledge of many different
mount solutions and allows us to put that knowledge to work for you; whether it’s helping our customers pick a product solution or if you are installing it yourself, this program was created to help us help you succeed and make the best decisions.
- SMART provides resellers with the opportunity to train and gain knowledge on their many
products. This is done online and in person at SMART’s Head Office in Calgary, Alberta. Many hours are spent on courses through the SMART Learning Space, SMART webinars, and face-to-face training in a classroom setting. We are very proud to now have two Certified Trainers for Notebook Software, Tracey Cochrane and Colleen Layton. Both Tracey and Colleen are available for training sessions for small groups in our boardroom or on location at your school or business. Tracey is also now a SMART Certified Sales Professional for Business.
- Points West Audio Visual is also a NEC Display Solutions “Complete Presentation Systems Provider” and Authorized Dealer.
- Colleen Layton & Rick Ponich have both achieved a Certificate of Achievement for
FrontRow. This was done by completing the Sound Field Dealer Training Workshops resulting in becoming an Authorized Dealer for FrontRow.

Funds raised also go towards research into the causes and the cure.
Each Walk is held to honour someone in the community that has been impacted by Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. Click here for more information.

We are able to do this thanks to the generous support of the public, corporate sponsors, planned gifts, donated goods and services and funds raised through special events. Together, we are working to make life better for children all over British Columbia & Yukon .
